How Our Hair Is Made:
From Mountain roots
to Meaningful Impact.
Every strand of LIVD IN hair begins its journey in the remote mountain regions of China, known for their mineral-rich environment and deeply rooted hair care traditions.
Our donors use ancient practices, like cleansing with fermented rice water, to maintain strong, healthy hair. Through voluntary thinning donations, they’re compensated fairly—building trust and partnerships that have lasted over 30 years.

Quality Starts at the Source
Only the top 5% of hair passes our initial selection process. Anything that doesn’t meet our standards is resold—because quality is non-negotiable.
From there, each strand undergoes careful preparation at our factory, which operates with environmental certifications, safe working conditions, and a team with decades of expertise.
Cold Bleach & Nourishment
Our hair is slowly lightened using a cold bleach bath. Between stages, it’s treated with hydrating and ph balancing baths to preserve softness and cuticle health.

Refined by Hand
Hair is meticulously hackled to align the cuticle and remove tangles or debris.
Our extensions are extra double drawn, with 30% more long hairs—resulting in full, lifelike volume.
True-to-Tone Color Matching
Custom-blended colors are applied using textile dye in a hot water process.
This pushes pigment deep into the cuticle, ensuring rich, multi-dimensional shades that stylists can trust.

Crafted to Last
From hand-tied to genius and nano wefts, every piece is finished, quality checked, and gently dried in our air-mimicking ovens to lock in softness and shine.
The Ripple Effect
Our impact goes far beyond the hair. Donors and workers are supported with fair wages and safe environments. Clients regain confidence. And through our repurposing program, used extensions become wigs or hair mats—continuing to make a difference.
This is hair made with care, purpose, and integrity—so you can offer more than beauty. You can offer meaning.
